It's Been Awhile...

It will probably be some time before I post again, since I am about to move and go on vacation, so here are my thoughts as of right now on a number of different topics:

Sports

Go Sox! We have a relatively easy schedule this month, so I expect a dominant August from my team, assuming we don't trade Manny and nobody else gets hit in the face with anything.

Politics

I recently had a discussion with a cute center-right girl who pointed out to me that John Kerry seemed horrible from a centrist perspective. "All he did was criticize Bush!" she said. "He had no ideas and he just seemed arrogant."

What bugged me was, I kind of agreed with her, which would be unimportant since Kerry already lost except that I fear that I am becoming John Kerry in this regard. I am horrified by John Bolton, the Rove Scandal, the emerging nastiness of Judge Roberts, the Iraq war, the War on Terror, the War on the Middle Class, the War on Public Schools, the War on Secularism, etc. But I'm not sure anything I can say is more than a sophisticated way of shouting "Republicans Suck!" into the void.

I think it's time to get smarter.

Work

I got my Cori form and stuff from my new job. I'm very excited to start. Also, terrified, but I'm sure it'll pass. Meanwhile, this is the last Weekend From Hell. The students have apparantly been threatening to egg police cars all week, so I'm not sure anything good can come from tonight, but I'll try...

My Personal Life

::sigh::

I have been talking with a very nice-sounding girl who I would ask out if I had time to do so, but I don't. I suspect I can look forward to another year of being too busy to overcome my relationship draught and the neurosis it brings on. Plus, satyadaimoku is cruelly moving to D.C., I suspect purely to irritate me.

Still, there are many people who love me and I don't seem to be in active conflict with any of them right now, so I guess things are pretty good.
